All prices depend on the size, detail, and amount of work needed to create your custom, cake masterpiece. Because of the small size of our staff and cakery boutique, we are limited on the amount of orders we can create per week.

In order to maintain the quality of delicious works of art, we must limit the amount of orders we can take each week.

Strictly Enforced Custom Order Policies
1. ALL payments for custom orders are NON-REFUNDABLE.
We are a small bakery, not a bank. While we are happy to apply your payment to store credit for a future order, we do not give cash refunds for any custom orders. From the minute you place your order, we immediately make multiple investments to ensure that your cake will be completed, some of which include turning down other potential orders, scheduling bakers and decorators, spending great deals of time properly planning the execution of your design, and purchasing necessary tools and supplies.
When you make a deposit or a payment for a cake, that is a commitment on your behalf, and we will hold you to it, just as you should hold us to our commitment of delivering your cake as we committed.
2. Until you place your deposit, we cannot guarantee availability for your date.
Upon ordering a cake, to secure your spot on our schedule, we require a NONREFUNDABLE deposit. Placing this deposit guarantees that we will be available to make your cake on your selected date.
Date deposits will go toward the final purchase of your cake, and do not represent any additional cost.
Cake design need not be finalized before placing a date deposit. We can happily work or the remaining detail after the deposit is placed, so long as all details are finalized no later than 7 days prior to your event date.
3. All Payments MUST be made according to schedule, or we may not make your cake.
As we stated before, creating custom orders requires a substantial investment on our behalf, and failure to meet payment deadlines exposes us to losses that we can’t afford as a small, independent bakery. Therefore, if you fail to pay for your order as scheduled, we may not be able to complete your cake.
For large custom orders like wedding cakes, a half payment is due two months prior to the event date, and a full balance is due two weeks prior to event date. For smaller custom orders, full payment is due one week prior to event date.
A 50% deposit is made in order to secure your order and event date and is always non-refundable. For all wedding orders, final payment is due a minimum of one week prior to the event in order to complete the wedding contract. A final wedding contract will be sent via email to the couple and will confirm the final payment has been received.

Being a small shop, Miss Chanie is only able to take a very limited number of custom orders for any given week. We must often decline other orders in order to secure your place- in doing so we ensure that every order we take gets the proper amount of attention devoted to it.
For wedding orders, in addition to declining other custom orders on your date, we may have already used time and products to complete your tasting and have spent time pricing out designs and researching techniques, made contacts with your venue, and ordered materials needed for your order. For these reasons, we are unable to refund deposits at any time and we thank you for your understanding.
Often times, hand-made decorative elements of your order will need to be made in advance to give enough time for drying. Therefore, at least 3 full days or 72 hours notice is needed in order to cancel any custom order. All store credits from cancellations are handled as follows:
If cancellation is requested 1 month or more prior to order date, 75% of your order deposit will be returned to you as store credit only valid for one year starting from the date of cancellation. This credit can be used towards future custom orders only. (No cash refunds).
If cancellation is requested within 3 full days or 72 hours notice, 50% of your order deposit will be returned to you as store credit only. This credit can be used towards future custom orders only valid for one year starting from the date of cancellation. (No cash refunds).
If cancellation is not requested within 3 full days or 72 hours' notice, no partial credit will be received. Sorry, we cannot make exceptions for any reason.
If your order has already been completed, you will be asked to pick up and pay the remaining balance due.
*Customers receiving store credit have their credit stored for one year on file at Chanie's Cupcakes & Cake* After one year from the cancellation date, store credits expire.
CHANGE OF EVENT DATE- POLICY
Often times, decorative elements of your cake will need to be made in advance to give enough time for drying. Therefore, a minimum of 72 hours' notice is needed in order to change the pickup or delivery date on any custom order. Postponement requests are handled on a case-by-case basis as availability may be limited for future requested dates.
We cannot guarantee that we will be able to move your order to the new requested date. For postponement requests made within 72 hours' notice you may receive 75% of your deposit back as a store credit for future orders if we cannot accommodate your new date. As long as 72 hours' notice is given, we will always make our best effort to accommodate the request. (No CASH REFUNDS).
If change of pickup or delivery date is not requested within 72-hour notice, no partial credit will be received in the event that we cannot accommodate the date change. Sorry, no exceptions.
*Customers receiving store credit will receive it in the form of an email verification.
Payment for deposits and final payments may be made in the form of cash or credit card/debit cards.
